Dear Reader,

What is all this anyways? Half Sister is an all inclusive online zine focused on giving young creatives a place to explore complex personal narratives through writing, photography, and multimedia projects. Our goal at Half Sister is to cultivate an online space where creatives, readers, and those alike can find expression, solidarity, and most importantly a voice. In our early days of brainstorming we dreamt up big ideas for what this could be, but above all else what we really wanted was for the new generation of emerging artists to feel seen and heard. When curating our first issue, we carefully chose a group of artists with strong visions and acerbic voices, building a team we could have only dreamt of just a few short months ago. We hope that you take the chance to explore the words of our writers, the images of our photographers, and all the beauty and vulnerability of these artists. We hope that when you turn off your computer you feel inspired to come back and create with us. After all, there's always a place for you at Half-Sister.
